At a time when many new college graduates are just beginning their job searches, several students from Buffalo State’s electrical engineering technology (EET): smart grid program landed good jobs prior to commencement.

“Within a few months of graduating, 100 percent of our smart grid majors have found employment or have been accepted into graduate degree programs,” said Ilya Grinberg, professor of EET who specializes in electric power distribution systems design and analysis. “Our students acquire the exact skills that engineering firms and companies that hire engineers are looking for.”

Recent EET grads who have accepted job offers:

  • Berthony Lozier was offered an aeronautical engineer position with Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, California. He said one key point in his hiring was his hands-on experience with electronics and his work with the state-of-the-art Smart Grid lab.

  • Aidan Krombach was accepted as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and will start his training in June.

  • Travis Osagie received three job offers, including one he accepted at Lockheed Martin in Dallas, Texas. While at Buffalo State, he interned at Dow Chemical and Aurubis.

  • Johnel Rodriguez was hired by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He made connections with this utility while attending a conference in Los Angeles in March sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers.
